MILO HARRIES, BARITONE

ABOUT

Raised in a loving and supportive family, educated at St Paul's School, the University of Cambridge, and the Royal College of Music, mine is a story of success against entirely possible odds.

I've been very fortunate in the opportunities I've been given, and I've tried to make the most of them. I left Cambridge with a Double First in English, before studying for a Graduate Diploma and a Masters in Performance at the Royal College of Music. I graduated from the RCM in 2016, and have had three happy and exciting years out in the world as a freelance singer. Most recently, I've been in Bologna, and in Matera, the 2019 European City of Culture, singing Domenico in Silent City. 2020 has brought me back to Cambridge, where I'm starting a PhD on theatrical participation in the context of the climate crisis.

Other things in my career I'm proud of: appearing on the BBC with Opera North in Opera in a Nutshell; coaching English for the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House; covering Nathan in Pleasure, again for ON; playing Edmund Bertram in Mansfield Park, for Waterperry Opera Festival; covering Owen in Owen Wingrave for British Youth Opera; winning the British Music Society Song Prize in 2015.
